Europa-Park: Preparations for the new season are in full swing - Final piece of track for the new water rollercoaster is mounted

36 days before the beginning of Europa-Park's new season on March 19th 2005, the final piece of track for the new water rollercoaster SuperSplash was slipped into place on Febuary 10th. The SuperSplash, which is as yet unnamed, is the first component of a Portuguese themed area, which will be completed in 2006.

The owners of Europa-Park, the Mack family, invest five million Euro in the spectacular new attraction. With the new ride, they respond to the suggestions of the park's visitors, who wish for more water attractions in Germany's biggest theme park. The park's second-highest rollercoaster is designed by the company MACK RIDES GmbH in Waldkirch, which has also built numerous other rides at Europa-Park.

At the moment, approximately 120 persons work on the construction site every day. The final piece of track, with a weight of approximately 10 tons, has been slipped into place at a height of 30 meters by two cranes. The next step will be to run the cables and wires for electricity, air pressure and safety systems, before the exterior design of the rollercoaster will be completed with rocks, plants, etc.

In 2005, Europa-Park is open daily from March 19th until November 6th from 9 am until 6 pm, longer opening hours during peak season. Winter opening from November 26th 2005 until January 8th 2006 (except December 24th/25th). For hotel reservations, please call +49 (0) 1805 / 86 86 20 (0,12 ?/min. for calls within Germany).
