Unique family attraction for the start of the 2007 season

An adventurous journey to Atlantis

"Jump in and dive down" - in 2007 Europa-Park presents its new family attraction "Atlantis Adventure" in the Greek themed area. Forward, backward, sideward - it's up to the visitors to decide, when joining in an exciting search for the legendary sunken city. Adventurous fun is guaranteed for the whole family in fantastic underwater worlds with interactive elements!

Visitors begin their journey through the oceans of the world in a secret base, deep beneath the Greek village, where they meet Professor Carter and his little assistant, a turtle called T-01. The pair conduct their guests on an interactive expedition through the worlds of Atlantis, in expedition vehicles which can be turned through 360° by the passengers. Visitors must raise their laser harpoons, act quickly, aim - fire! For a host of dangerous creatures lurk in the depths of the ocean, and guests must put them out of action. Points are given for each target hit and shown on the vehicle's control display. The success of the explorers will be shown at the end of the journey.

Passing colourful coral reefs with mysterious statues and countless sea creatures, the journey wends past a mysterious ship"s graveyard, where treasure chests are waiting to be discovered. The explorers then approach a glowing underwater volcano and, from there, they must venture through the eerie and impenetrable darkness of the deep, where monster fish swirl about the expedition vehicles. Finally, the mysterious and fascinating city of Atlantis beckons, promising wealth beyond one"s wildest dreams. But here, too, caution is advised: surrounded by the strange architecture of the ruined city, guests must ward off sea dragons and snakes. As a reward for their successful underwater expedition, the treasure chambers of Atlantis await the intrepid visitors - and it is here that the identity of the explorer with the steadiest aim will be revealed!

Fun is guaranteed for visitors of all ages on this new interactive theme ride, and all the family is welcome aboard on the underwater expedition (children up to and including 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult). All in all, a total of 58 vehicles, equipped with laser harpoons, can accommodate two to three passengers.

From the first idea until completion of the attraction, the interactive theme ride "Atlantis Adventure? was fabricated by MACK Rides in close cooperation with Europa-Park.

With this new family attraction Europa-Park is continuing with the consistent family-friendly gearing, which has been the hallmark of Germany"s biggest theme park since it was first established. In the past, attractions with an outstanding theme element which also guaranteed fun and entertainment for all age groups have proven particularly popular. Furthermore, Europa-Park"s intention to extend its all-year range was a crucial consideration behind the move to construct this interactive indoor ride.

Europa-Park is open daily from 31 March until 4 November 2007, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm (longer opening hours during peak season). Winter season 2007/2008: 1 December 2007 until 6 January 2008 (except 24/25 December). Info-Hotline: +49 (0) 1805 / 77 66 88*. Further information: www.europa-park.co.uk..
