Magic Moments at Europa-Park

Santa Clause is riding roller coasters, colourful Christmas tree balls are dancing to a festive winter beat and the scent of gingerbread is spreading all over Europe… the time of “magic moments” has come back to Europa-Park! From 29 November 2008 until 11 January 2009 (except 24/25 December), numerous winter attractions, festive decoration and a fascinating show programme guarantee plenty of fun and entertainment for young and old also during the cold time of the year.

 

An adventurous winter journey through Europe


At Europa-Park, a large variety of racy attractions and winterly activities is waiting for the whole family also during the winter season. Whether a thrilling ride on the Euro-Mir roller coaster, a trip to the stars in the dark coaster Eurosat or a leisurely journey through a fairytale-world in the Sleigh Ride Snowflake – Europa-Park guarantees plenty of fun and entertainment for all age groups! Moreover, numerous additional activities are offered during the winter season: dashing down a ski run in the children´s skiing school, whizzing around the bends in skibobs, racing down a snow ramp in fun snow tubes or turning a sweeping pirouette on the big ice-skating rink. Moreover, the visitors can go on an adventurous trip to the North Pole with the “Polar Express” in the Magic Cinema 4D. And in the big “Winterworld” the children´s eyes sparkle with joy when they discover numerous activities that guarantee plenty of fun and action.
Also this year, a spectacular show programme is presented in Germany´s biggest theme park during the winter season. For example, the guests can enter a winterly world of fantasy in the Circus-Revue, where acrobats high up in the air, top-class performances presented by animals and plenty of comedy guarantee unforgettable moments. In the Globe Theatre the visitors can experience “A very British Christmas” and the Children´s Musical offers plenty of winter fun for the youngest guests. In the evening, the whole family can admire the sparkling Parade of Lights, which is wandering through the park at nightfall.
In between, the ice bar “Glaciar” offers ice-cold refreshments in a truly frosty ambience. All those who prefer a more leisurely pace can stroll across the festively decorated Christmas market or enjoy a drink surrounded by a cosy ambience in the Après Ski Bar. Moreover, the visitors can savour a wide range of winter specialities, such as potato dumplings and cheese soup, throughout the park.

Experience Marc Chagall
An exceptional art exhibition can be admired this year in the Mercedes-Benz-Hall: “The Marc Chagall Experience – His Love of Greece” invites all guests who are curious about art to an unforgettable voyage of discovery through Chagall´s works. The visitors can not only admire 69 of his original lithographs, they will also plunge into a Greece so graphically depicted by Chagall and experience and re-live his visual world digitally.

Santa Clause Special
This year, Europa-Park gives presents to all Santas! All guests who visit Europa-Park´s magical winter wonderland between 1 and 19 December from Monday to Friday dressed up as a Santa Clause, will get a 5 € voucher for food and beverages. Whether a glass of mulled wine, sweet hot chocolate or delicious hot chestnuts – a truly festive mood is guaranteed with this Christmas gift for Santas!

Winter Highlights
Also during the winter season, the visitors of Europa-Park can experience numerous special events. On the first weekend of the winter season, all guests can prove that they have what it takes to be a ski jumper when jumping off a 40 metre long ski ramp.
On 6 December, all fans of the 70s and 80s should visit the Europa-Park Dome: during the SWR1 Winternight, great party mood is guaranteed with the DJs of the German radio station SWR1, ABBA FEVER and the popular German band Spider Murphy Gang.
From 26 December until 9 January, the Swiss queen of pirouettes and 11-fold world champion Denise Biellmann joins Europa-Park´s international cast of ice-skaters and presents breathtaking performances on ice.
And on New Year´s Eve, all guests of the Tropical Beach Party and of the dinner events in the hotel resort can welcome the year 2009 with a spectacular fireworks display.

Magic Moments in the Hotel Resort
With approximately 2,500 colourfully decorated fir trees, sparkling fairy lights and cosy log fires, Europa-Park guarantees countless magic moments during the winter time. And all those who just can´t get enough of the festive ambience can stay overnight in one of Europa-Park´s four 4-star themed hotels “Colosseo”, “Santa Isabel”, “El Andaluz” and “Castillo Alcazar”. Moreover, adventurous guests can spend the night in one of the romantic log-cabins in the Camp Resort. An especially cosy ambience is featured in the hotels´ Christmas Rooms, where young and old can stay overnight surrounded by festive Christmas decoration. And who knows… maybe Santa Clause visits the youngest visitors to wish them sweet dreams?
