From the season 2010 on, the guests of Europa-Park will enjoy the fascinating world of energy in general and natural gas in particular. The cooperation between Europa-Park and the Russian and worldwide active company GAZPROM has given birth to a unique theme world at the heart of the Icelandic themed area!
Since the beginning of last year already, the launch coaster "blue fire Megacoaster" has proven to be a real "magnet" for the audience in the Icelandic themed area of Europa-Park. Passing by the steep rocks, the waterfalls and the typical barren landscape, daring passengers travel with full speed through the 13th European themed area in Germany's biggest theme park. But by the beginning of summer season 2010, the island of fire and ice presents a new highlight for the park's visitors: the brand new event and information hall "GAZPROM theme world - the wonder of energy"!
The futuristic-shaped building is not only a new queue area leading to the Megacoaster, but also an interactive themed exhibition about the GAZPROM group and the energy source natural gas. Furthermore, there is a shopping and food & beverage area as well as two rooms dedicated to conferences and events. The way to the hall leads across a lake, which emphasises the impressive glass facade of the construction. All those who find a ride on "blue fire Megacoaster" a bit too racy can take up some exciting and informative adventures in the fascinating world of energy. Three cylindrical rooms with 360° multimedia-cinemas invite the visitors to research and discover. With the help of projections and sound effects, the visitors of the first cylinder go for a trip deep inside the earth, where natural gas is stored for millions of years. Pure excitement and versatile information about the exploitation and extraction of natural gas awaits the guests in the second cylinder of the theme world. Moreover, the wonder of energy gives an insight into the delivery and utilization of Russian natural gas, which has been transported reliably and safely day after day to Germany for 40 years.
But action is also guaranteed at many levels in this new theme world. Be it a video game with a thrilling race through the pipelines or some athletic performances at the giant table football - the GAZPROM theme world offers fun and entertainment for young and old alike. Furthermore, an interactive photo-station invites the guests, among others, into the impressive landscape of Siberia and allows them to send their souvenir-picture directly at home. By the way, those who would like to keep a reminder of their visit through the world of energy have the new GAZPROM shopping area at their disposition.
The also new food & beverage area awaits hungry researchers with refreshing drinks and delicious snacks. With its interactive elements and plenty of information around the theme of energy, the new "GAZPROM theme world - the wonder of energy" proposes a captivating alternative to a racy ride on the launch coaster "blue fire Megacoaster".
